Stars Free Up $9.85M Cap Space as Seguin Season Ends

Dallas finally pulls the trigger on Tyler Seguin's torn ACL, filing the paperwork that rules him out through the playoffs and hands GM Jim Nill a massive $9.85 million LTIR pool right before the March 6 deadline. Seguin, the alternate captain who's battled back from hip surgery before, collided with Rangers defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov back in December and now faces four months minimum on the shelf.
