Ovechkin Returns for 22nd Season on One-Year Deal

Alex Ovechkin is staying put in Washington, signing a one-year contract to return for his 22nd season with the Capitals. At this stage of his career, the Great Eight continues to defy expectations and remain a force in the NHL. The Capitals are betting that Ovechkin still has plenty left in the tank as they look to compete in the Eastern Conference.
