Canucks Racing Clock on Buium's Eight-Year Extension
The Vancouver Canucks have a narrow window to lock down young defenseman Zeev Buium to a long-term deal before the new CBA fundamentally changes contract rules. Buium becomes extension-eligible on July 1 and can sign an eight-year extension, but only until September 15 when the new collective bargaining agreement kicks in and reduces the maximum extension term to seven years.
