The NHL announced today that they have fined the Washington Capitals $100,000 for violating COVID protocols.

The National Hockey League announced today that it has fined the Washington Capitals $100,000 for Player violations of the League’s COVID‑19 Protocols which involved social interactions among team members who were in close contact and who were not wearing face coverings.

This is a steep fine and shows just how serious the league is about their protocols are followed. The Caps are the first teams to be fined for this violation.

What remains to be seen is if those 4 players tested positive or just going through testings. More to come.
