The Dallas Stars acquired Evgenii Dadonov from the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday in exchange for fellow Russian forward Denis Gurianov.

Dadonov, who turns 34 next month, has 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) in 50 games this season.

Dadonov has 283 points (128 goals, 155 assists) in 463 career games with the Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Vegas Golden Knights and Canadiens.

“Evgenii is a skilled forward that can play anywhere in our lineup,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said. “Recording 20 or more goals in four of his previous five seasons, he is a proven goal-scorer at the NHL level and will bolster our offensive attack.”

Gurianov, 25, has registered two goals and seven assists in 43 games this season.

A first-round pick (12th overall) by Dallas in 2015, he has 103 points (46 goals, 57 assists) in 257 games over parts of six seasons with the Stars.

Montreal will retain 50 percent of the remaining portion of Dadonov’s contract until the end of the season, per The Athletic.
