The Seattle Kraken have signed Florida Panthers goalie Chris Driedger to a 3-year contract worth $10.5 million. He is now one of at least three goalies the Kraken will be selecting today.

One of those goalies will not be Habs netminder Carey Price per multiple reports.

Kraken sign goalie Driedger; leave Price alone

Ron Francis targeted the Panthers Chris Driedger as an early targetĀ back in May. Florida knew this and attempted to trade him but were unsuccessful.

The 27 year-old was impressive this past season with a 14-6-3 record to go with a 2.07 GAA and SV% of 927.

One mystery now solved is Carey Price. There was some serious consideration that Seattle would take him but the 33 year-old goalie will stay in Montreal.

A great gamble by the Canadiens who protected valuable back up Jake Allen.
