Report: Maple Leafs, Capitals and Avalanche among teams in on Nick Foligno
Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno are probably the two biggest names to be had on the trade market. With the Blue Jackets falling further away from playoff contention, more deals could be imminent. Foligno will be a UFA and has trade protection but could be ready to move on.
Nick Foligno drawing huge interest
“We’ll have a conversation if something does come up,” Foligno said per The Athletic last week. “If there’s something that needs to be presented, we’ll talk. Otherwise, I’m just going to go about my business the way I always have,” he explained. “It’s definitely unique hearing your name out there. Until I’m told otherwise, I’ll continue to come here and do what I do and continue to be the person I’ve always been.”
Now it is being reported that multiple teams have put an offer on the table for Foligno that includes a first round pick. Per Frank Seravalli he believes the Maple Leafs, Avalanche, and Capitals are in the hunt and willing to pay the asking price. He also stressed that the list may not be conclusive.
On Saturday Headlines, Elliotte Friedman mentioned that he believes the Wild are interested. If that’s the case, Nick could be interested in a chance to play with his brother Marcus Foligno. Columbus GM Jarmo Kekkalainen will likely not trade him without consulting with Foligno as to where he wants to go.
