Report: Jack Eichel reportedly frustrated at Sabres as teams continue to drop out in trade talks

NHL Free Agency has opened and Jack Eichel is still with the Buffalo Sabres.

Darren Dreger is reporting that Jack Eichel and his camp’s “frustration levels” are on the rise. The teams lingering around are being classified as “tire kickers” at best.

Jack Eichel frustrated as Minnesota Wild drop out

Michael Russo who covers the Minnesota Wild for The Athletic is reporting they are out on a Jack Eichel trade.

This is a devastating blow for Eichel’s hopes to being traded. The Wild who cleared cap space by buying out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter were always going to have a hard time to make this trade without some level of cap help.

Who is in on Eichel?

Several teams were reported to be in on Eichel earlier today by Pierre LeBrun. Who might they be? The Golden Knights and the Rangers. Some still feel the Ducks are interested as well.

Oddly enough, both Vegas and New York seem to be already lining up on Plan B – Phillip Danault. Unconfirmed reports state the Golden Knights have already worked out a deal.

As for Vegas, THN’s Ryan Kennedy says he heard the Sabres ask from Vegas was Reilly Smith, Peyton Krebs, Nic Hague and a first-rounder. That may be a reason why Vegas today went out and acquired Dadonov from the Senators. They currently have just $2 million in cap space which should take them out of it.

The Sabres continue to demand that Braden Schneider or Nils Lundkvist from the Rangers. I doubt GM Chris Drury will add either of them. If he does complete the deal it should very much be like the offer which was relayed to me by a team source back in March.

Vitali Kravtsov, Filip Chytil, Zac Jones, and a first round pick are pieces they’d be willing to move. Maybe with Keith Kinkaid in the fold and Sabres unsure they can sign Linus Ullmark the Blueshirts could include Alexandar Georgiev.

Will Eichel get traded today? Who knows.
