Ottawa Senators set to buyout Bobby Ryan
The Ottawa Senators appear to be the first team that will use a buyout. Per Darren Dreger, Bobby Ryan is expected to be put on waivers for the purpose of a buyout.

In a bit of a surprising move, especially with the Senators around $20 million from the cap floor, they are going to buyout Bobby Ryan.
The 33 year-old winger old played in 24 games this season and notched 8 points. He is being bought out of the final two years of his contract.
Bobby Ryan’s comeback
Bobby Ryan battled back from his bout with alcoholism and won the Masterton Trophy for perseverance and dedication to hockey. In his acceptance speech he thanked the organization for helping him comeback and he hoped to continue his career there. Unfortunately, that will not happen.
