The back and forth continues as the clock ticks towards Jan. 13.”
NHL Rumors: More unhappy owners over realignment
The NHL has laid out what realignment looks like, but there are reports that many owners are unhappy with it. From the rumor mill, teams like St. Louis and Minnesota weren’t thrilled.
Here’s the current divisions, but expect changes.
US1: BOS, BUF, NJ, NYI, NYR, PHI, PIT, WAS
US2: CAR, CBJ, DET, CHI, FL, MIN, NSH, TB
US3: ANA, AZ, CO, DAL, LA, SJ, STL, VGK
CAN1: MTL, VAN, CGY, WPG, TOR, EDM, OTT
Leafs could trade Frederik Andersen
If there is one Maple Leaf, just or unjustly under fire, it is goalie Frederik Andersen. The 31 year-old net minder is entering the final year of a deal that comes with an AAV of $5 million.
Many experts do not feel Andersen is the problem, and he’s more a victim of bad defense. However, the position notoriously comes with all the blame, and all the glory too.
One possibility is that as the deadline nears, and Marc-Andre Fleury is still available. There could be a swap there. It would take some cap eating by Vegas, but it makes a lot of sense.
