As for head coach Travis Green, he said he wanted to be back with the team behind the bench. “I will stand by what I’ve said that I want to continue to catch the team,” he said on Sportsnet650. “I hope we get something done.” It looks like the two sides have come to an agreement. We will update this story once terms are disclosed.

The Buffalo Sabres are starting their coaching search in earnest. Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the both Rick Tocchet and Bruce Boudreau are among several candidates lined up for the job. Some believe that interim head coach Don Granato has the inside track to get it based on his work late in the season and praise from his players during exit meetings.
John Davidson says David Quinn a candidate for Blue Jackets coach
Yesterday, during his reintroduction to the Blue Jackets, John Davidson was asked if he felt recently released Rangers coach was a candidate for the Blue Jackets job. Davidson praised Quinn’s character and his work with the Blueshirts. He also said that Columbus wouldn’t be doing their due diligence if they didn’t consider all coaches.
