The questions surrounding Travis Green should be put an end now According to Darren Dreger, Green and the Vancouver Canucks are close to an extension that will be finalized today.
Travis Green staying with Canucks
There were a lot of questions for the Canucks this offseason but they are quickly being answered. Some wondered if GM Jim Benning was on the outs. We learned yesterday, he would be back with the club next season and may have the Sedin Twins helping him out.
As for head coach Travis Green, he said he wanted to be back with the team behind the bench. “I will stand by what I’ve said that I want to continue to catch the team,” he said on Sportsnet650. “I hope we get something done.” It looks like the two sides have come to an agreement. We will update this story once terms are disclosed.

Sabres to interview Rick Tocchet and Bruce Boudreau
The Buffalo Sabres are starting their coaching search in earnest. Pierre LeBrun is reporting that the both Rick Tocchet and Bruce Boudreau are among several candidates lined up for the job. Some believe that interim head coach Don Granato has the inside track to get it based on his work late in the season and praise from his players during exit meetings.
John Davidson says David Quinn a candidate for Blue Jackets coach

Yesterday, during his reintroduction to the Blue Jackets, John Davidson was asked if he felt recently released Rangers coach was a candidate for the Blue Jackets job. Davidson praised Quinn’s character and his work with the Blueshirts. He also said that Columbus wouldn’t be doing their due diligence if they didn’t consider all coaches.
Both Davidson and Quinn are presented by the same agency, the Montag Group.
