NHL Rumors: Rangers will buyout Lundqvist, Lightning to make trades, and more
It’s been rumored for months, but now the crushing reality will set in for Henrik Lundqvist and Rangers fans. Tons of rumors coming out of the latest edition of TSN’s Insider Trading.
NHL Rumors – Lundqvist buyout
Darren Dreger is now reporting that the Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist will be parting ways as soon as tomorrow. “The time has come for the two sides to separate,” he said on TSN.
“I believe that the New York Rangers, as early as Wednesday will move forward with the buyout,” Dreger reporter. Henrik Lundqvist is 38 years-old and has one year left at $8.5 million. When the Rangers buy him out, they will have to eat $5.5 million on the cap, but gain a crucial $3 million is space.
NHL Rumors – Oilers interested in Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Darren Dreger says the Edmonton Oilers are in the early stages of trying to trade for Arizona’s Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Interesting indeed, as Boston is also considered in the mix.

NHL Rumors – Lightning to shed salary
Pierre Lebrun reported that the Lightning have already started working to phones to trade players. Tampa wants to make sure they can re-sign RFA’s Anthony Cirelli and Mikhail Sergachev. Lebrun added one little caveat that the team may trade a big contract few suspect. Stamkos anyone?
