NHL Rumors: Jets’ Jack Roslovic demands trade, Nico Hischier to miss Devils camp, and Bruins moving on from Zdeno Chara
Jack Roslovic wants out from the Winnipeg Jets. He will not be reporting to camp as he sits and waits for a trade. Now will he get one is the question?
NHL Rumors: Jack Roslovic demands trade from Winnipeg Jets
The 23 year-old RFA is not happy with the way the Winnipeg Jets have been utilizing him. He was a first round pick back in 2015 and saw career highs with 12 goals and 29 points playing primarily as a third liner.

According to Luke Fox, he was being shopped around this offseason with the Jets looking for a defenseman. Winnipeg would need to free up cap space to sign him and thus probably are way off for what he is looking for financially.
NHL Rumors: Nico Hischier injures leg
Nico Hischier suffered a leg injury while training this offseason and will miss the start of NJ Devils camp. The 21 year-old star will not need surgery according to published reports but the timetable to return is uncertain.
The Devils are going to need Hischier in order to compete in the realigned East Division, which is widely considered the toughest of them all. His 36 points in 58 games last season will be sorely missed if he loses any portion of the regular season.
NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins looking for other options on defense
The Bruins may be seriously moving on from Zdeno Chara as rumored interest in 27 year-old UFA Ben Hutton grows. Other teams were interested in Hutton including the Edmonton Oilers but have since moved on.
In a recent report in The Athletic, a source wan’t sure the Bruins had re-signing Chara as a top priority. “Not sure,” a league source discussing a Chara extension told Fluto Shinzawa. “Feels like they are waiting to see if the trade market opens anything up first.”
At the same time, Chara’s agent Matt Keator feels no pressure. “Now that we know the format, he can sign with the Bruins, retire or sign another team,” he said. “Obviously the first is the priority. We haven’t gotten into retiring.”
Back on December 13th, I learned that Chara was considering retiring. Since then it was learned many teams had interest in him but he seems focused on only playing for the Bruins.
