NHL Rumors: Throwing a life raft at this flooded goalie market
The NHL goalie market this offseason is overloaded. There is no other way to put it. From all the goalies on the block, free agents, to Henrik Lundqvist being bought out the options are endless.
NHL Rumors – Goalies on the block
Marc-Andre Fleury: He wants to stay in Vegas, but there is no way the Golden Knights are going to carry that much cap space to goaltending if they sign Lehner. Vegas also said they would not be buying him out. Will someone step up at 50% retained? MAF has a no move clause so this will be tough. Some suggest a Pittsburgh reunion.

Matt Murray: The rumor mill is picking up on the RFA goalie. It sounds like someone may make an attempt to trade for his rights or sign him to an offer sheet that the Penguins will not match.
Devan Dubnyk: The San Jose Sharks are looking for a goalie and it appears they could be close to acquiring Dubnyk from Minnesota.
Darcy Kuemper: The Arizona Coyotes may have changed their position on Kuemper causing teams like Edmonton and Calgary to move on.
Tuukka Rask: Good luck moving this contract.
Elvis Merzlikinis/Joonas Korpisalo: The Blue Jackets have two number 1 goalies and are putting the work out they could be willing to trade one of them. I seriously doubt anything happens here.
Frederik Anderson: The Leafs are just playing games here. They aren’t moving Anderson because he’s not the problem.
NHL Rumors – UFAs
Braden Holtby: This former Stanley Cup winner will be the top goalie on the market. At just 31 years, he could give a contender 3-5 solid seasons. I really look at teams like the Avalanche, and Hurricanes as top landing spots.
Robin Lehner: There was a reported 5 year deal done during the conference finals. It sounds like there’s a hang up, but what? I still think this gets done and he stays in Vegas.
Corey Crawford: The 36 year-old former Champion could be a nice 1B type backup for a team with good young goaltending. He would be insurance and might make sense in Calgary or Washington.
Thomas Greiss: Interesting goalie here. Some may seem him as a starter, I just don’t. Where he lands? How about Detroit or Ottawa.
Henrik Lundqvist: The King is without a country. Lundqvist could as soon retire then play for another team. Maybe if the role is right as a 1B who will play 40 games he continues. How about the team that misses out on Holtby. Or what about the Caps? Lots of interesting choices.

Anton Khudobin: There sounds like mutual interest in Dallas to retain Khudobin so I think it gets done.
Craig Andersson: A candidate for a one year deal or forced to retire.
Jimmy Howard: Same as Andersson.
Cam Talbot: I can see teams looking for an experienced backup to check in on Talbot. Maybe Pittsburgh, or even the Capitals.
