NHL Rumors: Bruins hot for Mike Hoffman, Senators and Anthony Duclair reunited, and more
We’ve been talking about all the unrestricted free agents still unsigned for awhile now. Tracking the ebbs and flow of this awkward offseason, it was last noted that many teams and the players themselves were waiting to see how the season would shape up.
As we near a possible vote, and things are becoming clearer, noise is picking up on players like Mike Hoffman and Anthony Duclair.
NHL Rumors: Bruins zeroing in on Mike Hoffman
The Boston Bruins have been attached to free agent goal scorer Mike Hoffman for months. As far as cap space, the Bruins should be able to free some up by placing players like David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand on LTIR.
That also means they have a huge need to make up that offense. Over at the Ottawa Sun and TSN, they make the argument that Boston is the best and most logical destination for a one year deal.
NHL Rumors: Anthony Duclair and the Ottawa Senators together again?

The Ottawa Sun also believes that Anthony Duclair returning to the Senators makes complete sense as well. In the same article about Hoffman, they acknowledge that the two sides need each other.
Of course, if the Bruins can’t land Hoffman they could themselves go after Duclair. The Senators and Duclair were working on a deal, but the forward who is representing himself left the offer on the table to see if he could land a better one.
Corey Perry with the Leafs?
TSN’s Dave Poulin had a lot to say in a recent edition of That’s Hockey. When it came to another UFA, Corey Perry this is what he said.
“Go home,” said Poulin, referring to Toronto. “Join Jason Spezza and Joe Thornton and have some fun. They won’t need you until the playoffs anyway.”
