NHL Rumors: Anthony Duclair signs with the Panthers, Flyers still want Patrik Laine, and Mike Hoffman with the Blues
We finally have some movement as Anthony Duclair is off the board. The scoring winger signed a one year deal at $1.7 million with the Florida Panthers today.
NHL Rumors: Duclair lands in Florida
The Duke as he’s affectionately known will add his scoring punch to a Panthers lineup that needs it next season. Duclair was rumored to be an option for the Bruins, Kings, Red Wings, Devils, Panthers, and Senators.
NHL Rumors: Flyers still interested in Patrik Laine

The Philadelphia Flyers interest in goal scorer Patrik Laine continues.
The Flyers have had interest in Laine, a source told NBC Sports Philadelphia on Wednesday night. In early October, The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported that the Flyers and Jets had trade discussions about Laine but the talks cooled.
NBC Sports
Laine is 22 years-old and is in the final year of his contract. He will head to RFA next offseason and the Jets have been long rumored to deal him for a center and/or defenseman.
Laine remains a top fixture on DGH’s Trade Bait Board.
Does Alex Steen’s retirement mean Blues will go after Mike Hoffman?
Alex Steen has called it a career due to a back injury. The 36 year-old was a solid citizen for the Blues playing there for 12 seasons. His “retirement” will be treated similar to that of Johnny Boychuk’s as he will go on LTIR but get his full salary of $3.5 million.
With Steen moving on, that means the Blues could spend $87.25 million without any concern about players coming back. If you consider that their cap hit is now at $82.7 million, and Dunn may cost approximately $2.5 million, the team will have about $4.2 million in cap space after carry-over bonus overage is applied.
The Athletic
Could the Blues, who will be without Vladimir Tarasenko for most of the season use that space to sign Mike Hoffman? A one year deal at $3 million could be enough to get it done, so keep an eye on this one.
