NHL Recaps: October 2, 2022
On Sunday, the NHL put forth a very light preseason schedule with only three games on tap.
The Minnesota Wild (4-0-0) remain one of three unbeaten teams in exhibition action along with the Seattle Kraken (4-0-0) and Carolina Hurricanes (3-0-0). The Nashville Predators are the only other team without a regulation loss (3-0-1)

NHL Recaps: Minnesota stays Wild
Marc-Andre Fleury coasted to an easy shutout needing to stop only 12 Blackhawks’ shots through 60 minutes. Connor Dewar, Matt Boldy, and Brandon Duhaime collected goals for the Minnesota Wild in the win. Peter Mrazaek was solid in net for Chicago making 30 saves.
Islanders 2 vs Flyers 1

The New York Islanders finally picked up their first win of the preseason thanks to goals by Kyle Palmieri and Scott Mayfield. Mathew Barzal registered an assist in the contest with Semyon Varlamov making 16 stops on 17 shots in 2 periods of action. Tony DeAngelo notched the lone Philadelphia Flyers tally on the power play.
Kings 2 vs Ducks 1
Adrian Kempe and Arthur Kaliyev scored twice for the Kings in their comeback victory over the Ducks. Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty picked up an assist each in the game. Jonathan Quick went the distance for L.A. and stopped 24 shots while his Anaheim counterpart John Gibson made 31 saves on 33 shots. Rocco Grimaldi was the lone Ducks scorer.
Defenseman Sean Walker made his return to the ice for the Kings after missing most of the year with an ACL and MCL tear.
