NHL News: Sharks sign goalie Adin Hill; Wild sign forward Will Bitten

The San Jose Sharks came to terms with goaltender Adin Hill on August 4. His deal is for two years and comes with a cap hit of $2.175 million.

Sharks sign Adin Hill

Hill, 25, was traded to the Sharks from the Coyotes this past July. Last season he posted a 9-9-1 record to go along with a .913 SV% and 2.74 GAA.

“We’re pleased to get Adin under contract solidifying our goaltending position for the coming season,” said GM Doug Wilson said in a statement.

The two sides avoided arbitration. Hill is expected to compete for the starting role against James Reimer. Former number 1 goalie Martin Jones was bought out and is now in Philadelphia.

Wild sign Will Bitten

The Minnesota Wild have signed forward Will Bitten to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2021-22 season.

The deal announced Sunday by general manager Bill Guerin is worth $840,000 at the NHL level and $75,000 in the AHL.

Bitten, 23, was a third-round pick by Montreal in 2016 and was acquired from the Canadiens in a 2018 trade for defenseman Gustav Olofsson.

Bitten tallied 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 31 games with the AHL’s Iowa Wild last season. The Ottawa native has 69 points (28 goals, 41 assists) in 145 career games with Iowa from 2018-21.
