Sam Bennett is set to be a healthy scratch tonight when the Flames take on the Senators. Apparently, Geoff Ward is sending a message and that’s basically a trade is inevitable.
NHL News: Alex Ovechkin only fined for groin shot
There are rules for NHL Superstars and then there’s rules for everyone else. Last night, Alex Ovechkin nearly turned Trent Frederic into a eunuch. The Bruins forward was antagonizing Ovechkin all night until the Caps captain said – ENOUGH.
That came in the form of a spear to the groin area so obvious and blatant that a player like Brendan Lemieux would’ve been suspended 5 games for. Instead, Ovi gets a $5,000 fine – the equivalent of a parking ticket in a small town in Ohio for him.
