NHL News: Ryan Strome signs for 2 years with NYR as wave of RFA deals continues

Another day of RFA hearings, another batch of RFA signings. Yesterday, the New York Rangers and center Ryan Strome avoided an arbitrator at the eleventh hour. Today another Ranger is set for a hearing in Brendan Lemieux.

NHL News: Ryan Strome gets two years and $9 million

It looks like the former first rounder has found his game and a home with the Rangers. Yesterday, the team’s second line center avoided arbitration and signed a 2 year deal with an AAV of $4.5 million.

Artemi Panarin is also very happy to have his center back that helped him to an MVP finalist season in NY. Strome scored 59 points while Panarin notched 95 points. The duo was also a combined +23 when together on ice 5 on 5.

The Rangers are likely to lock up Lemieux before today’s scheduled hearing.

Columbus signs Gavrikov for 3 years

Another RFA came to terms yesterday when defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov signed with Columbus. A three year deal with an AAV of $2.8 million was given to the 24 year-old defenseman.

EA Sports, NHL, and NHLPA extend partnership

EA announced an extension of their deal with the NHL after the successful release of NHL 21. The relationship has been a staple in the lives of hockey fans of all ages ever since NHLPA 93 and the Godfather of all hockey games NHL94 hit the stands.
