NHL News: Nazem Kadri out until playoffs, Lawson Crouse out for season, and Nick Ritchie suspended 1 game
The Colorado Avalanche will be without Nazem Kadri due to an upper-body injury until the playoffs. The injury occurred during Thursday’s 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks
“He’s going to miss some time. I don’t know how much,” coach Jared Bednar said via NHL.com. “I don’t have a timeline on him, really.”
Kadri, 31, has 83 points in 65 games this season.
The Colorado Avalanche could clinch a playoff berth if the Canucks defeat the Golden Knights on Sunday.
Lawson Crouse out for the season

Arizona Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a broken hand.
The Coyotes said Crouse would be sidelined for four weeks after he blocked a shot during Monday’s 6-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.
Arizona (21-42-5, 47 points), which has been eliminated from postseason contention, concludes its season against the Nashville Predators on April 29.
Crouse, 24, has recorded career-high totals in goals (20) and points (34) in 65 games this season. His 14 assists are tied for a career high, set when he played 81 games during the 2018-19 campaign.
Crouse has recorded 110 points (56 goals, 54 assists) in 346 career games with the Coyotes, who acquired him in a trade from the Florida Panthers on Aug. 25, 2016.
The Ontario native was selected by the Panthers with the 11th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Coyotes Nick Ritchie suspended 1 game
Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Ritchie was suspended for one game after slashing Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. He will forfeit $12,500.00 which goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Playing in his 400th career game, Ritchie was involved in an altercation with Shattenkirk in the final second of the first period in the Coyotes’ 5-0 loss on Friday. Ritchie was assessed a minor penalty for roughing against Ducks forward Dominik Simon.
Ritchie, 26, has 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) in 50 games this season split between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Coyotes.
He has 156 points (69 goals, 87 assists) while playing with the Ducks, Boston Bruins, Leafs and Coyotes.
