NHL News: Erik Haula lands in Nashville, Schedules released, and more
The Nashville Predators are shopping aggressively with their remaining cap space. Yesterday, they re-inked Mikael Granlund and today they added Erik Haula to the team.
Nashville Predators sign Erik Haula
Erik Haula signs for one-year with an AAV of $1.75 million. Almost two months ago his agent Jay Grossman said, “Really we’ve probably talked to 10-12 teams that have had legitimate interest. We’re just sorting through those options.’’

Sorting through those options meant waiting to see how things would shake out and it appears Nashville made the most sense. At 28 years-old, Haula has plenty of game left as he scored 22 points in 48 games last season. His best season came in 2017-18 with Vegas when he notched 55 points in 76 contests.
NHL releases long awaited schedule
The NHL has released their schedule for the 2020-21 season and it is filled with excitement, including a 5 game stretch against the L.A. Kings for the Anaheim Ducks. The Kings interestingly enough break up the monotony with 2 games against Arizona. All scheduling has weird quirks and this year has plenty.
The North Division has a lot of 4 game stands but that was to be expected with only 7 teams. One thing is for sure, this is going to be one hell of a rough and tumble season.
Blues make it official, name O’Reilly Captain
Yesterday the Blues teased the announcement, and now it is official. Ryan O’Reilly is the 23rd captain of the franchise.
