NHL Headlines: Stanley Cup odds for next season released, and Quinton Byfield signs his ELC

Stanley Cup odds: The Tampa Bay Lightning were awarded the Cup just a few weeks ago, but that isn’t stopping the betting world from releasing odds for next year’s Champ. According to BET MGM the Colorado Avalanche are the team to beat next season.

Wondering…have they seen the Avalanche play defense? Did they trade for a stud goalie and didn’t tell anyone? For me, this is way too early.

  1. Colorado Avalanche +800
  2. Vegas Golden Knights +850
  3. Tampa Bay Lightning +900

Quinton Byfield signs ELC (NHL)

Quinton Byfield is the highest drafted black player in NHL history and that means a lot to him. “Being in the record books for anything is definitely super-special, especially [since] my dad and my mom didn’t play hockey or have too much knowledge about that, so kind of just growing the game together,” he said after being drafted. “It just shows there’s a lot of opportunity for everyone in the world that you can play every sport and be successful in it.”

The L.A. Kings are expected to work him into the lineup immediately next season.
