Today’s NHL Headlines focuses on the opening bell of the COVID era of free agency yesterday. A record amount of goalies were on the market and found homes. As for the big UFA’s one of them finally signed late last night with the Blues. Torey Krug is now in St. Louis but had a lot to say about Boston, so let’s get to it.

Dubas says free agency is slow compared to past experiences. Flat cap and removal of interview period have slowed it down. Wayne Simmonds signed today because Leafs had permission from Buffalo to interview him days early.

Blues GM Doug Armstrong on not signing Pietrangelo: "We tried to sign (Alex). I want to give our ownership a ton of credit, going to the maximum number of years available… We used every tool under the CBA to ensure we could get something done. It just didn't work out."
