Marc-Andre Fleury’s agent confirms reports that he may opt retire

The Blackhawks have reportedly acquired Vezina winning goaltender, Marc-Andre Fleury from the Vegas Golden Knights. As multiple outlets and insiders spread the news, his agent Allan Walsh confirms that his client has yet to be told about the trade.

Marc-Andre Fleury may opt to retire

“While Marc-Andre Fleury still hasn’t heard from anybody with the Vegas Golden Knights, he has apparently been traded to Chicago,” agent Allan Walsh tweeted. “Marc-Andre will be taking time to discuss his situation with his family and seriously evaluate his hockey future at this time.”

The 36 year-old netminder is coming off one of the finest seasons of his career which led to his first ever Vezina Trophy win. He was 26-10-0 with six shutouts, a .928 save percentage and a 1.98 goals-against average for the Vegas Golden Knights in the regular season.

This was his 17th NHL season, and it appears it could be his last.

Allan Walsh once tweeted a photo of the Golden Knights stabbing his client in the back

Back in the bubble last Auguest with Robin Lehner appearing to have taken over the starting role, Allan Walsh made it publicly known he wasn’t happy. He put out a now deleted tweet of Fleury being stabbed in the back.

You have to wonder what he might do once this is said and done.
