Kevin Weekes is at it again, announces Wild extension with Alex Goligoski at acupuncture office
The Minnesota Wild agreed to a contract extension with veteran defenseman Alex Goligoski for an additional two seasons, according to multiple reports Tuesday.
In the latest edition of ‘Where in the World is Kevin Weekes Breaking News’, the NHL Analyst appears to be at an acupuncture office.
During the NHL Trade Deadline, Weekes took the hockey world by storm breaking trades from various locations. One even included announcing a deal from a barber’s chair.
This sparked a load of social media memes that photoshopped Weekes breaking news from outer space to name one.
Wild extend Alex Goligoski
Goligoski, currently in his 15th NHL season but first with his hometown Wild, is reportedly expected to make an average of $2 million per season.
The native of Grand Rapids, Minn., has two goals and 26 assists in 58 games with the Wild this season. He also has a career-high and team-best plus-34 plus/minus rating.
Goligoski, who turns 37 this summer, signed a one-year, $5 million deal last summer to join Minnesota — his fourth team in his career.
He has logged 85 goals and 372 assists for 457 points in 982 career games. Goligoski began as a second-round pick in 2004 by the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he played his first three-plus seasons (2007-08 to 2010-11). He was a member of the Penguins’ Stanley Cup-winning team in 2009.
Goligoski has also skated for the Dallas Stars (2010-11 to 2015-16) and the Arizona Coyotes (2016-17 to 2020-21).
