Dallas Stars put playoff hero Anton Khudobin on waivers
The Dallas Stars have placed 2020 Stanley Cup playoff hero Anton Khudobin on waivers.
Khudobin, 35, has struggled this season with a 3-3-1 record to go with a below average SV% of .873 and GAA of 3.73. This move comes off the heels of Ben Bishop announcing his retirement over the weekend.
Stars place Khudobin on waivers
Dallas has been getting great goaltending from offseason acquisition Braden Holtby, who was signed after being bought out by the Canucks. They also have 22 year-old netminder Jake Oettinger in the fold.
Apparently, the Stars have been looking to move the 2020 playoff hero for awhile.
“They have started to test the market and see what they can get for Anton Khudobin,” Jeff Marek reported on Sportsnet. “They spoke to one team last week and that was the Buffalo Sabres.”
Khudobin, has one year remaining at $3.33M. If he clears waivers and the Stars were willing to eat 50% of his cap hit, several teams may find him attractive.
For his career, Khudobin is 114-90-33 with a 2.50 GAA and .916 SV%.
