Calle Jarnkrok nets Kraken three picks from Flames

The Seattle Kraken are starting their fire sale and getting futures for pending UFAs. On Wednesday, the Calgary Flames coughed up three draft picks to acquire Calle Janrkrok.

Seattle will receive a 2nd-round pick in 2022, a 3rd-round pick in 2023 NHL, and a 7th-round pick 2024. The Kraken will also retain 50% of Jarnkrok’s salary.

“I want to thank Calle for everything he did for the Kraken,” Seattle GM Ron Francis said on the team’s website. “We wish him all the best in Calgary.”

Jarnkrok, 30, has recorded 26 points in 49 games this for Seattle. He was selected from the Nashville Predators in the expansion draft this summer.

The Flames bolster their center depth for what they expect to be a deep playoff run this season.
